  • Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations prior to the event will incur a £50 administration fee.

  • No refunds will be given less than two weeks before the event start date for live events or at the start of the event for recorded events.

  • In some cases we may accept the fee paid as payment towards a place on the same or another course , this is at the discretion of Orthopaedic Academy and will be viewed on an individual basis. Bookings can only be transferred once. Substitutions can also be made at any time. Please email us to make any amendments to your booking.

    Orthopaedic Academy reserves the right to cancel any event. We aim to give as much prior notice as possible. The full registration fee will be refunded unless a mutually convenient transfer can be arranged. 

    Please note that while speakers and topics were confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, Orthopaedic Academy reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary without any liability to you whatsoever.

  • Appeal policy

    Dear valued members of the Orthopaedic Academy,

    We understand that there may be times when a member may not agree with a decision made by the Academy or may wish to appeal a decision. Therefore, we have established an appeal policy to ensure that any member who feels aggrieved by a decision made by the Academy has the opportunity to request a review.

    The following outlines the appeal policy for the Orthopaedic Academy:

    Notification of Appeal
    Any member who wishes to appeal a decision made by the Academy must notify the Academy in writing within 30 days of receiving notice of the decision. The written notification must include the reasons for the appeal and any supporting documents.

    Review Panel
    The Academy will appoint a Review Panel to review the decision. The Review Panel will consist of three members who were not involved in the original decision. The Review Panel will be appointed within 14 days of receipt of the appeal.

    Appeal Hearing
    The Review Panel will conduct an appeal hearing within 30 days of its appointment. The member appealing the decision will be given the opportunity to present their case to the Review Panel. The Review Panel may also ask questions of the member and any other parties involved.

    Decision
    The Review Panel will make a decision within 14 days of the appeal hearing. The decision of the Review Panel will be final and binding on all parties involved.

    Communication of Decision
    The Academy will communicate the decision of the Review Panel to the member in writing within 7 days of the decision.

    We believe that our appeal policy will ensure that all members are treated fairly and that any grievances are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. We encourage all members to familiarize themselves with this policy and to contact us if they have any questions.

 
  • Complaint policy

    We are committed to providing a high level of service to all our members. However, we understand that there may be times when members may wish to raise a complaint about the Academy. Therefore, we have established a complaint policy to ensure that any member who has a complaint can have it resolved in a fair and timely manner.

    The following outlines the complaint policy for the Orthopaedic Academy:

    Complaint Notification
    Any member who wishes to make a complaint about the Academy must notify the Academy in writing as soon as possible after the incident has occurred. The written notification must include the nature of the complaint, the date and time of the incident, the names of any individuals involved, and any supporting documentation.

    Investigation
    The Academy will investigate the complaint and gather all relevant information. The investigation will be conducted by an impartial investigator who was not involved in the incident.

    Resolution
    The Academy will seek to resolve the complaint in a timely manner. The resolution may involve a number of different options, including an apology, a change in Academy policy or procedures, or other appropriate action. The resolution will be communicated to the member in writing.

    Appeal
    If the member is not satisfied with the resolution, they may appeal the decision. The appeal must be made in writing within 30 days of receiving the resolution. The appeal will be reviewed by an independent Review Panel, as outlined in our Appeal Policy.

    Communication
    Throughout the complaint process, the Academy will communicate with the member in writing, providing updates and seeking feedback.

    We believe that our complaint policy will ensure that all members are treated fairly and that any complaints are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. We encourage all members to familiarize themselves with this policy and to contact us if they have any questions.

 
  • Course content review policy

    We are committed to providing high-quality educational content that is relevant, up-to-date, and accurate. As part of our commitment to excellence, we have established a Course Content Review Policy to ensure that all of our educational content meets our high standards.

    The following outlines the Course Content Review Policy for the Orthopaedic Academy:

    Review Process
    All educational content offered by the Academy will be subject to a review process. The review process will be conducted by subject matter experts who are members of the Academy or who have been approved by the Academy.

    Frequency of Review
    All educational content offered by the Academy will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that it remains up-to-date and accurate. The frequency of the review will depend on the nature of the content, but at a minimum, all content will be reviewed every two years.

    Review Criteria
    The review process will evaluate the content against a set of criteria to ensure that it meets the Academy’s standards. The criteria will include the relevance of the content, the accuracy of the information, the currency of the research, and the clarity of the presentation.

    Revision Process
    If any issues are identified during the review process, the Academy will take appropriate action to revise the content. This may involve updating the content, removing inaccurate or outdated information, or adding new information to address any gaps.

    Communication
    The Academy will communicate any revisions to the educational content to members in a timely manner. Members will be notified of any changes to the content, and the updated content will be made available to them.

  • Data protection policy

    We take the privacy and security of our members’ personal information seriously. As such, we have established a data protection policy to ensure that all personal data collected by the Academy is handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

    The following outlines the data protection policy for the Orthopaedic Academy:

    Data Collection
    The Academy will only collect personal data that is necessary for the purposes for which it is being collected. This may include, but is not limited to, name, address, email address, phone number, and professional information.

    Data Use
    The Academy will only use personal data for the purposes for which it was collected, and will not use the data for any other purposes without obtaining the member’s explicit consent.

    Data Storage
    The Academy will store personal data securely, taking appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage.

    Data Retention
    The Academy will retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. After that period, the data will be securely deleted or destroyed.

    Data Access and Correction
    Members have the right to access and correct their personal data held by the Academy. Members can make a request in writing to the Academy, and the Academy will respond within 30 days of receiving the request.

    Data Sharing
    The Academy will not share personal data with third parties without obtaining the member’s explicit consent, except where required by law or where necessary for the purposes of providing services to the member.

    Data Breach Notification
    In the event of a data breach, the Academy will notify members affected by the breach within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

    We believe that our data protection policy will ensure that all personal data collected by the Academy is handled in a secure and responsible manner. We encourage all members to familiarize themselves with this policy and to contact us if they have any questions.

    Accountability
    The Academy will hold all members accountable for adhering to this Equal Opportunity Charter. Any member who violates this Charter will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the Academy.

  • Filming & recording policy

    Please be advised that when you attend an event/course, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur for educational, marketing and promotional purposes by Orthopaedic Academy.

    By attending an event/course, you hereby acknowledge and consent to such recordings being made and shared .

    It is important that you let us know prior to the event/course commencing if you have an issues or concerns regarding this, so that we can take appropriate steps to ensure you are not included.
